Catoosa County fire ruled arson; reward being offered

A fire investigator with the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office has determined that a house fire in Catoosa County was intentionally set. The fire occurred shortly after 9:30 A.M Tuesday morning. The residence is located at 14 Dogwood Drive in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. It was determined the fire originated on the back deck. The structure suffered major damage from the blaze and the investigation revealed that this was the third fire in approximately two weeks. The Tuesday morning fire caused the most severe damage of the three. Safety Fire Commissioner Jim Beck is asking anyone with knowledge about this fire to call the Arson Hotline at 1‐800‐282‐5804. Rewards are offered of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist(s). Calls are taken 24 hours a day and callers can choose to remain anonymous.

The Fort Oglethorpe Fire Department and Police Department are assisting with this investigation.
