Cartersville man arrested after attempting to flee from deputies and trooper in Bartow County

According to reports, on Friday, Jan. 25, at around 11:40 p.m., a Bartow County Sheriff Deputy attempted a traffic stop on Grey Honda Fit on Carson Loop in Catersville the Honda failed to stop. Bartow County Deputy pursued the Honda down Highway 41 (GA-3). A Georgia State Patrol trooper was requested by Bartow County Sheriff’s Office for assistance with a pursuit. As the pursuit traveled southbound on Georgia 3/Hwy. 41, the trooper joined the pursuit, and was requested to take the primary position in the high speed pursuit. After taking primary in the pursuit, the trooper attempted to set up for a P.I.T. maneuver after turning onto Firetower Road, but was blocked by the violator’s vehicle, making contact between the vehicles. The pursuit continued and turned right onto Georgia 293 Northbound. The GSP trooper successfully performed a P.I.T. maneuver, ending the pursuit near mile marker 13. The driver sustained injuries after the vehicle rolled and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. His name is Michael Kinsey Haynes, 29, of Cartersville. He was charged with Fleeing and attempting to elude, DUI, reckless driving, suspended license, and slew of traffic stop.
