Just after 8:00 pm Sunday Calhoun Police responded to the report of an attempted kidnapping. The female victim and her daughter were walking near the Calhoun Lodge apartments when the alleged incident occurred. The victim said that a man approached her and asked "Store?" in English. The victim told police that she responded, in Spanish, with the location of a nearby convenience store. The man wanted her to go with him, and she said no, her daughter was with her and they were going home. The man had his shirt over his head, covering his face, and was quickly beside the woman, telling her he had a gun. He is described as a short, Hispanic male, standing about 5'06" and weighing about 130 lbs. The suspect fled toward East May Street when the woman yelled to her daughter that he had a gun and was trying to kidnap her.
