Calhoun man seriously injured and airlifted after motorcycle crash Thursday in Gordon County
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Thursday, March 19th, 2020, at 6:28 PM, a 1999 Honda VTR 1000 being driven by Levi Kerrick Fetzer, 35, of Rock Creek Road Calhoun was traveling south on Rock Creek Road. Fetzer lost control and laid the motorcycle down on its side. The area of impact occurred on the southbound side of the roadway. The motorcycle slid 286.7 feet before coming to an uncontrolled rest on its left side facing west. The Fetzer slid 165.6 feet to an uncontrolled rest in the south side ditch of the roadway. A witness stated to the investigating trooper that when the motorcycle passed his house, he was riding a wheelie and traveling at a high rate of speed. He stated after the motorcycle passed, he thought he heard a crash. When he went up the road to check, he stated that it was the same motorcycle that just passed his house and that there was only one rider. According to the report, Fetzer was seriously injured and was airlifted by LifeForce to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Fetzer is facing charges of DUI, reckless driving, and driving on revoked or suspended license.
