Calhoun man arrested on several charges including DUI after serious crash in Gordon Co. Monday
According to a Georgia State Patrol crash report, on Monday, June 29th, 2020, at around 11:02 PM, a 2005 Nissan Frontier Crew being driven by Joshua Dave Pass, 41 of Calhoun, was traveling north on Miller Ferry Road. Pass was negotiating a right curve at a high rate of speed. Pass left the roadway off the west shoulder and struck a ditch, with the front of the Nissan Frontier. After the initial impact, the Nissan Frontier rotated counterclockwise and overturned. The Nissan Frontier struck several trees before coming to rest upright facing west off the west shoulder of Miller Ferry Road. The areas of impact were determined by tire tracks in the grass, a gouge mark in the ditch, broken limbs on the trees, and the driver's statement. Pass stated that he was going way too fast and was not familiar with the road when he ran out of the roadway. Nether Pass nor his two passengers were wearing seatbelts in the crash. Pass was injured in the crash and transported to Advent Health Gordon. Passenger Charles Sutton, 32 of Calhoun, was seriously injured and was airlifted to Erlanger in Chattanooga via Life Force. A second passenger Austin Adcock, 23 of Calhoun, suffered minor injuries in the crash. Pass is being charged by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, serious injury by vehicle, failure to maintain lane, safety belts, and too fast for conditions.
