Calhoun man arrested after leading DNR on a high speed chase Sunday morning in Kingston
Charles Lewis Autry of a Calhoun Georgia address was arrested by the Georgia Department of Natrural Resources Law Enforcement on multiple felony charges after a high speed chase Sunday morning in the Kingston area. The chase began around 8:30A.M. on Massengale Road in Kingston Georgia after Aurty fired a rifle from the roadway. The high speed pursuit turned onto Highway 293 after striking another DNR law enforcement patrol vehicle. The pursuit continued into Floyd County going down multiple roads. The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed rolling his vehicle near the intersection of Wayside Road at Barnsley Garden Road. Autry is being charged with failure to obey stop sign or yield after stopping, reckless driving, improper backing, driving while license suspended or revoked, must give signal/insufficient use of turn signals, speeding, hit and run; duty of driver to stop or return to scene of accident, driving wrong side of road, receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by convicted felon or felony first offender, marijuana-possess less than 1 OZ, littering, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer/felony, and violation probation - felony more charges are expected.
