Barricaded suspect arrested without incident in Adairsville

On March 3rd, 2019, the Adairsville Police department was contacted by a lady whom had been violently assaulted. Mrs. Tiffany Jackson, age 38, of 115 Summer street in Adairsville told Police that a friend of hers, Mr. John Anthony Evans, age 37, had entered her residence and got into her bed. When Mrs. Jackson awoke and asked him why he was there, he became violent and struck her in the face numerous times and strangled her. A short time later, Mrs. Jackson left her house and walked to the Police department and told officers about what had occurred. A short time later, Officers surrounded the house and attempted to make entry, discovering Mr. Evans had barricaded himself in the residence by driving nails into the doors. After obtaining arrest warrants for Aggravated Assault as well as Battery, Adairsville Police along with Bartow County deputies and a K-9 made entry into the home. Shortly thereafter, Officers discovered Mr. Evans hiding under duct work and insulation in a small attic space. He was arrested without incident, checked by E.M.S., and transported to the Bartow County Jail.
