All four suspects wanted in Whitfield County armed robbery arrested
Four people have now been taken into custody in connection to the armed robbery of Dixie's Food Mart at 2101 S. Dixie Highway that occurred Nov. 29th at about 10:35 AM. Ediovardo Quintero. 23, of Dalton was previously arrested in Chattanooga on Nov. 30th, after he tried to report a carjacking saying he was the victim. According to incident report and press release Christopher Diaz, 25; Rogelio Martinez, 26; and Jesus Nava, 29, all of Dalton are also being charged with armed robbery. They have been booked into the Whitfield County Jail facing charges of armed robbery of business (gun), aggravated assault (gun), theft by taking, larceny, and possess firearm/knife during commission of felony. Whitfield County Sheriff Chitwood said in the press release that Nava planned out the robbery and recruited Diaz, who then recruited Martinez and Quintero. Sheriff Chitwood says Nava had recently installed some security equipment in the store and that during the armed robbery the security equipment was taken. Three of the four suspects entered the store and one acted as a lookout, driving a separate getaway vehicle. According to the incident report a witness to the robbery took a picture of the offender vehicle with her cellphone. The picture provided showed the vehicle to be a dark-colored Jeep Renegade. The witness also advised that there were three masked subjects with and gave a detailed description of the suspects. The witness stated to deputies one of the subjects had a small-sized black automatic pistol. The owner of the business, stated that three masked subjects came into the store with one being armed with a handgun. The owner stated that two subjects went behind the counter and took approximately $25,000 in cash, and one went to the back storage room taking part of the camera surveillance system.
