Adairsville Police arrest two after finding over $1,000 in counterfeit money and a firearm
On June the 9th, 2019, The Adairsville Police Department responded to the area around McDonald's at 100 Princeton Blvd. due to a call of subjects attempting to pass counterfeit bills. A BOLO was given on the suspect vehicle, a silver SUV. Once arriving in the area Adairsville Police Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in front of the Click Mart on Highway 140. Adairsville Police officers made contact with both the subjects in the vehicle, Jerrod Paulin Turner age 28 from Buford Ga., and Kia Simone Chin age 34 of Lawrenceville Ga. Both subjects stated they turned in the counterfeit bills mistakenly. A manila envelope full of counterfeit bills and a firearm was observed in the vehicle. Upon a further investigation and a search of the vehicle more counterfeit bills and receipts from many businesses was also located. Officers discovered that they had also passed the bills at Zaxby’s and Burger King in Adairsville as well. All told, Officers located $1560.00 dollars in the fake bills. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Bartow County Jail and face multiple charges of Forgery in the 1st degree and Possession of Firearm during the commission of a crime.
