9-year-old girl killed in two-vehicle crash on Highway 27 in Trion Saturday, GSP investigating
On Saturday November 9th, at approximately 2:04 P.M., the Georgia State Patrol responded to a fatal crash that occurred on U.S. 27 at West Oak Street in Chattooga County. According to preliminary reports a 2000 Chrysler Sebring was traveling north and was attempting to turn left onto West Oak Street from the center turn lane. A 2010 Ford F 150 that was traveling south in the right lane of U.S. 27 the Sebring failed to yield to the Ford. The impact was so violent it split the Sebring into two separate pieces. A 9-year-old female from Chattooga County inside the Sebring sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The Georgia State Patrol said the investigation is ongoing.
