2 Ghost Face Gangsters who escaped inmate work detail in Georgia recaptured in Whitfield County
A manhunt for escaped Ghost Face Gangsters who walked off from a work detail Wednesday is over after they were both taken into custody this morning in Whitfield County. James Rodney Owenby and Zachery Glenn Rampley, who are both part of the Ghost Face Gangsters, left their work detail Wednesday in Thomaston Georgia, which is west of Macon. Authorities said the duo stole a city work truck as well. Authorities took James Rodney Owenby, 27 into custody in the area of Old Grade Road near the South Bypass. Owenby was apprehended around 9:15 A.M. after leads were developed by GDC Fugitive agents, with assistance from Whitfield Sheriff's Office, Hays SP, Walker SP, Floyd CCI, Spalding CCI, and GDC Fugitive, K-9, CID agents US Marshals, GSP, and GBI. The other escaped inmate, Zachery Glenn Rampley, also 27, was arrested around 2:30 A.M. inside a home at 503 Crook Road. Eddie Lee Davis, 29, Rebecca Elizabeth Mcallister, 27 Thomas Milton Preavtte, 30 were all also arrested at 503 Crook Road and booked into the Whitfield County Jail on a charge of hindering apprehension or punishment of a criminal. Both Inmates have served one prior stint in prison, GDC records show. Owenby was convicted of first-degree burglary in Gordon County. Rampley was convicted of obstruction and several driving-related crimes in Gordon County. Both weren't set to be released until 2022 Owenby is serving a sentence for second-degree burglary and theft by taking in Murray County GDC records show. Rampley is serving a sentence for several crimes in Bartow County, including aggravated assault, obstruction, and criminal trespass.
