Motorcyclist killed after high-speed pursuit from Bartow County ends in crash in Cobb County

According to the Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office, the following are the preliminary findings of a crash investigation by GSP Post 3 Bartow. On March 27, 2023, at 9:20 p.m., Bartow County Sheriff’s Office was in a pursuit of two motorcycles for racing on GA-3 (Hwy 41) near Mockingbird Road and requested GSP assistance. A Trooper responded to GA-3 at Old Alabama Road to intercept the pursuit. When the pursuit reached the Trooper’s. location, Bartow County was pursuing one motorcycle. The Trooper activated his emergency equipment and became primary in the pursuit. The motorcycle continued fleeing south on GA-3 at a high rate of speed and in a very reckless manner. The pursuit traveled into Cobb County. When the motorcycle was approaching the intersection of Acworth Summit Blvd at a high speed a HondaAccord was turning left and was struck in the right side by the motorcycle. The motorcycle driver succumbed to his injuries on scene and the passenger in theHonda was transported to Kennestone Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
