Detroit man driving reckless at 115 mph on I-75 found with schedule II at Catoosa County Jail

According to a Georgia State Patrol incident report, On May 11th, 2023, at 11:57 PM, while sitting stationary on the I-75 southbound 348 entrance ramp, Trooper Shackleford observed a 2015 Jeep Cherokee approaching at an extremely high rate of speed at 115 mph. Trooper Shackleford initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Elijah Mohammuad London, 29, of Detroit, MI. Once out of the vehicle, she asked the driver why he was driving at such a high rate of speed. Trooper Shackleford reported, “London advised that a female inside the vehicle needed to use the restroom, which seemed odd considering he just passed exit 348, which contains multiple establishments that would accommodate. Due to Mr. London’s complete disregard for not only his passengers’ lives, but the lives of innocent motorists on the roadway, Mr. London was placed under arrest for reckless driving. The handcuffs were checked and double-locked for his safety and comfort. Before searching Mr. London’s person, [I] asked if there were any drugs or weapons on his person. Mr. London responded, “No, I don’t do drugs”. His person was searched in front of my patrol vehicle camera and placed in the rear seat of my patrol car.” London was transported to Catoosa County Jail. Catoosa County Booking Officer Billingsly located a white pill inside London’s left sock, which was found to be a Schedule II controlled substance. London was booked and charged with speeding, reckless driving, possession of Schedule II controlled substance, and crossing guard lines with drugs.
