According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On January 17th, 2023, at 4:14 PM, Deputy Corona was dispatched to 2545 E Walnut Ave in reference to two females shoplifting. The loss Prevention officer informed the deputy of the following information. According to the report, “On January 17th, 2023, Ms. Fanny Aylet Montufar-Solorio, 29, and Ms. Lizbeth Villarreal Sanchez, 24, both of Dalton, were at the self-checkout line. Ms. Montufar-Solorio and Ms. Sanchez were seen on surveillance footage covering unpaid merchandise with paid merchandise. Ms. Montufar-Solorio and Ms. Sanchez both exited the self-checkout line without paying for the unpaid items. A total of 27 items were unpaid with a total sum value of $433.30.” The stolen items that the females stole ranged from bikinis, lotion, phone cases, and other beauty products. Montufar-Solorio and Sanchez were transported to the Whitfield County Jail, charged with theft by shoplifting.
