Convicted felon found in possession of gun and meth after absconding from mental health court

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On February 9th, 2023, at 1:50 AM, several deputies arrived at an address on Richardson Road in reference to an active Felony Warrant on Bryan Michael Quinn, 33, of Dalton, because he absconded from Judge Minter’s Mental Health Court. According to the report, “Sgt. Giles, Deputies Tabellion, and Pritchard went to the front door announcing themselves. After several minutes of trying to get Quinn to the door, Deputy Tabellion checked the door. The doorknob did not work properly and continued to turn when trying to open it. It was clear that the door was barricaded and secured from the inside of the house. Deputies then heard movement inside the house. Deputies had prior knowledge before arriving that Mr. Quinn lived at this residence by himself. This information was provided by Officer Vasquez, who is assigned to Mr. Quinn for his Felony Probation. At this time, Deputy Tabellion kicked through the front door, where Mr. Quinn was seen standing in the corner of a dark room. Sgt. Giles and Deputy Tabellion entered the house making contact with Mr. Quinn. Deputy Tabellion placed Mr. Quinn into handcuffs.” Deputies located meth and a handgun on Quinn. Quinn was charged with possession of Methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
