Cohutta man arrested for DUI after being stopped in Whitfield County

According to a Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office incident report, On January 12th, 2023, at 8:07 PM, Deputy Halpin arrived on the scene to assist Deputy Thompson with a DUI traffic stop. Deputy Thompson advised that the driver Brody Alan Crossen, 22, Cohutta, was having slurred speech and also noticed an open Michelob bottle inside the cab of the truck. During Field Sobriety Testing, Crossen showed several signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI. Crossen refused the state testing of his breath. Crossen was then transported to the Whitfield County Jail, charged with DUI Driving under the Influence, open container violation, and expired tag. Deputy Halpin filled out and issued Crossen an Administrative License Suspension (ALS) form. Deputy Halpin placed a copy of the ALS and Mr. Crossen’s driver’s license in the squad room to be turned in to the Department of Driver Service (DDS).
