Cedartown man arrested in connection with February serious injury DUI crash in Rome

According to a Rome Police Department report, On February 3rd, 2023, Justin Clayton Cameron, 21, of Cedartown, was driving at a high rate of speed down Riverbend Drive when he failed to maintain his lane and crashed. Blood results showed Cameron was driving with a BAC of .212 and with marijuana in his system. Several open containers of alcohol were also found inside his vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured and had to have surgery on a broken left femur. Cameron, who was 20 at the time of crash and had warrants taken out for his arrest. On July 3rd, 2023, at 1:31 PM, Trooper Perry was conducting stationary traffic enforcement on GA-1 at Darlington Drive when he checked a Black 2020 Camaro speeding at 76 mph in a 45 mph zone. Trooper Perry initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Justin Cameron. Cameron was found to have the warrants and was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with Cameron is charged with felony serious injury by vehicle, DUI, failure to maintain lane, open container, too fast for conditions, speeding, and underage furnishing of alcohol.
