According to Floyd County Jail reports, Will Henry Ford Sr, 74, of Rome shot and killed Harriet Ann Turner, 60, of Rome with a 12-gauge shotgun just before 7:00 a.m. Friday, March 31st, 2023, at his residence on Springdale Drive. She died as a result of a single gunshot wound to her torso. Ford is being held without bond in the jail’s medical wing. He is charged with murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The victim was his longtime friend and her body is being sent to the GBI for an autopsy.
